Kitchen Extensions in Nottingham

Open-plan kitchen diner extension with rooflights and bifold doors in a Nottingham home

KITCHEN EXTENSIONS

The room everyone actually lives in

Open-plan kitchen diners are the most requested project in Nottingham. Done well, they change how a family uses the whole house.

Designing a kitchen extension that works

The best kitchen extensions are planned around the kitchen layout, not the other way round. Island or peninsula, where the morning light lands, the walk from car to fridge with shopping bags: we design the shell and the kitchen as one, so plumbing, electrics and extraction are exactly where they need to be.

Most Nottingham kitchen extensions are single storey rear additions of 15 to 25 square metres, with rooflights over the kitchen zone and glazed doors onto the garden.

Frequently asked questions

How long will I be without a kitchen?

Typically 2 to 4 weeks at the end of the build, once the new space is ready for fit-out. A temporary kitchen corner with the old units is standard practice and keeps the household sane.

Bifolds or sliders?

Sliders give bigger glass panels and a cleaner look for similar money; bifolds open the whole wall. Honest answer: most families open them fully a handful of times a year, so do not pay a premium for it unless it is your thing.

Do I need planning permission for a kitchen extension?

Usually not; most fall under permitted development as standard rear extensions. We confirm your address qualifies before design starts.
